The Grand National – The UK’s biggest horse race

This Saturday the 9th of April at 415pm it’s the Grand National!   (Think the UK equivalent of the Melbourne Cup Race)

Every year held up in Aintree Racecourse, Newcastle it goes for 3 days and the première race is the Grand National.  It’s a huge group of horses (40!) that take to the field and they have to jump over a number of hedges as part of the race.. which basically means that you could place a bet on a 50-1 outsider and it might actually win the race!

The Independent have a number of tips about who to bet for, along with the BBC Grand National schedule, they have a Pinstickers Guide to the Grand National as well

Once you’ve decided who to have a bet on, then either go to one of the too many betting shops that are in most of the main/high streets of the UK, or bet online.  If your a first time better with Betfair you can get a Free £30 Bet!

Good luck for your horse(s)!

Nice article. Very useful. I always enjoy looking at this kind of races from Aintree racecourse. It was expected that Ubak to take action this time and win the race 1. Ubak also had great results in the past and I think is not a surprise that won this one.
